Ras Munda Uvé 12 years, 12 Initiatives 2012 to 2022: Chapter 6 Finka Pé Space

(design by Volunter Suf) In 2015, another space outside our community was occupied, following the ideology of expanding our philosophy of having connections with several community centers working together. At Finka Pé, the main objective was to transform this former public bathhouse and terrace into a Pan-African Centre. The space was fully furnished, remodeled and dynamized by the Pilorinhu Association and the Korrenti di Ativista Movement. Following the process of pacification of communities through social activities, this space was the first concrete realization of this ideal. Young people who were previously in rival urban conflicts, who hadn't sat down and worked together for more than 10 years saw a new opportunity in space. Children and young people from the two communities, previously with problems of rival conflicts between which many resulted in deaths and injuries, began to live and work in this space. Today the space is coordinated by a Local Association and they carry out activities in favor of local development. From Finka Pé, the occupation of Ilheu de Santa Maria was organized; one of the biggest tourist projects in Cape Verde in August 2016. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1601872120134821&set=pob.100009361460953
