1. INTRODUCTION
SELAM[1] AFRICA: BOB MARLEY AMHARIC LIRICAL DEUG 27 CHILDREEN BAND AND COREOGRHAPY, EMPLOYING WOMEN IN THE PRODUCTION OF SCHOOL BACKPACKS, THE ETHIOPANAFRICAN CENTER FORWARD THE GENERATION OF BELLA COMMUNITY TO AFRICA.
Our mean Goal is projecting our Pan-African Vision through Musical contents, the Production and Brand of The School Pack Bags, centralized in PEACE message in the Grass Roots Community Works.
After 12 years of our journey, Started in Cap Verd West of Africa and Senegal, now we are move forward the Ethiopanafrican Center here in Ethiopia; Building the Families Company, as the way to energize our Center with mean Vision is Peace in Ethiopia to Unite Africa.
Therefore Selam Africa is a better Initiative alternative what we see for many families living under Extreme Poverty in our communities.
2. Deug 27 Foundation: Vision, Mission and Objective
Deug 27 Foundation (D27) was registered as Board led Organization in 2021, although it has been working since 2018 in Ethiopia. It is managed jointly by its founder- President, Ras Munda Uvé and his wife, Mrs Isabelle Ferreira.
The Foundation has a total staff of 12 persons – professionals in Sociology, Pedagogy, Health, Sport Music, Sewing, Informatics, Accounting, Languages and Art – working on a voluntary basis, 18 Children’s, and also include their Families.
The founders have so far used their own financial resources for developing the project to the current level, trying to use the steps conquered, to mobilizing and motivate other partnership.
Ras Munda Uvé has a degree in Sociology of Social Intervention, Community Development, and has received several awards for his work: Local, National and International.
Isabel Ferreira is Panafricanist, Franco-Portuguese nationality, formed in Pedagogy, French teacher for more 25 years.
In Musical Area two of Co-Founder are Ras Kawintseb a professional Musician and Guitarist with long time of experience; and in Sewing department Ermias Merga is being progress to make Bags since for years and giving skill for many youth and mothers with became able to forward with us. All our member´s include the Children’s are founder of this initiative for Africa and are working daily in the various activities at our center. Another important information is the current level is also supported by 5 group what we call: THE COLLECTIVE GROUPS FOR THE ACTION PLAN to help this DEUG 27 VISION, with represent symbolically five finger of one hand working in Africa.
4. GENERAL OBJECTIVE (Focus):
1. Peace in Ethiopia to Unite Africa Toward musical message, Education, Community Commitment; realize so many event such as: conference, documentary, meeting; General Events, mobilizing different society civil agents. (Ethiopanafrican Center Initiatives)
2. Composition and interpretation of 7 Bob Marley lirical in Amharic include choreography: It intends that this project sensitize the Ethiopian peoples to the “Action of the National Peace”, awareness them "African Responsibility" through the understanding of the contents of Bob Marley's music, and the singer's "love relationship" with Ethiopia and all África. (DEUG 27 MUSICAL BAND)
3. Employment for the Mothers and Youths motivate the Community Responsibilities, Generation Awakens; but also the, supplying scholarship material like Bags, produced by own selves organization for the benefit of the all the Community. (DEUG 27 BRAND, Family Company)
5. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
ü Projection this Community Work and our Social Organization;
ü Awakens Creativity and Teamwork in the Community;
ü Foster the Group's physical, mental and spiritual motivation;
ü Sensibilise the African people about the role of Ethiopia for the Peace in the World;
ü Foster social entrepreneurship toward Backpack production;
ü Implement the Family Company Business;
6. EXPECTED RESULTS
Engagement of the Children’s, Youths and Mothers in the Grass Roots Community movement, Using the Music, Sewing and the Business Family Company as the main vehicle for the message what we want transmit: the Peace in our Society.
7. Description of Activities to achieve the Goal
· Theoretical and pratical training of the 7 Compositions; translation in Amharic language and Choreography;
· Production of the God Design of the bags and another components such us Notebooks, calendar, postal, agenda;
· Involvement of public and private project partner organizations;
· Consecutive stakeholders group work and training;
· Events, Workshops, Multimedia Action.
8. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
8.1. CURRENT SITUATION/ RELEVANCE OF THE PROJECT IN THE LOCAL, REGIONAL AND CONTINENTAL
For the community of Bella18 Addis Ababa, it is an inspirational project, to draw the attention of an impoverished and excluded community.
Addis Ababa is a Africa City. It should be inclusive. Nature, the basis of our survival, is being polluted, solidarity is increasingly depending on informal economies, efforts for survival are killing voluntary or community initiatives. The Lands is increasingly privatized, the wars are destroying the happiness of millions of families in Ethiopia and all Africa every day.
Theses childrens from families with very low purchasing power will be the main target of the project; include refugee of South Sudan and Ethiopian.
Most our Childreens are orphans also. This project would be a community spokesperson to express their desires to see their lives improve, to have more attention and economic, social and cultural development and to express their feelings about the Africa what they aspire and desire.
The dynamization of this center with this vision is an alternative of the conscience of union in the community the model we need to get out of the vicious circle of poverty and marginalization.
9.PROBLEM ANALYSED
Children’s in the community of Bella 18, a suburb of Addis Ababa, do not play a leading role and cannot unleash their creativity freely. The lack of various important resources, as this kind of initiatives leads them sometime to get lost in the world of drugs and delinquency. This type of behavior leads to higher family costs and public spending.
In order to solve and prevent this type of problem, it is necessary to invest early in children’s and adolescents, also to invest in social technicians who can think of solutions for this type of problem together and present cooperative solutions at a very low cost.
On the other hand, we act as an intermediary with the Central Government and Administrations, influencing Local Governance to take decision, integrated the community and not to be excluded.
The right to land becomes an achievement through the awareness of the community masses.
10.GOAL PROJECT
Provide continuity of the training and production in the area of Music & Choreography and Sewing. So that mean the Children’s/Youth´s Deug 27 Band should understands all the musical techniques to interpret the 7 selected songs, but also be able to give any testimonies about this vision of values that the lyrics want to convey: Peace, Love, Justice.
In the other hands the Women and Youths needs continue to make Sewing production in order to be Employed, working for the community. The community don’t need Export a lot of Pack Bags.
Finally Goal should be the Family Company Business in order to support the Foundation Vision for Africa.
12. The Ethiopanafrican Center What is this mean?
Pan-Africanism is an ideology that emphasizes the Unity and Freedom of the African Continent. Ethiopia is one of the only African countries that has defeated colonialism and given hope to all African leaders in the possibility of unity on the continent. It is also the capital and seat of the African Union.
Today we are 05 organizations that got together to not only promote the dynamism of the center that is rented, but to ask the Government for a space for the construction of this Space, bringing together social actors from 05 organizations in areas of: Community and Development; Education; Environment; Art; and Music.
Our current center has: A Sewing Atelier for production and Community Training; A music studio; A library; media library; Training rooms in Language, History of Africa, Agriculture, Gastronomy, among others
This center will be a great model for the whole of Africa in the future. The main content of the center will be the work for Peace in Ethiopia for African Unity using all the resources we have, mobilizing all interested partners.
